On February 6, 2020 the City of Fair Oaks Ranch ordered a general election to be held on May 2, 2020, for the election of Council Member Places 2 and 6 and a special election to reauthorize the local sales and use tax at the rate of 1/4 of 1 percent to continue providing revenue for the maintenance and repair of municipal streets. On March 18, 2020, Governor Abbot signed a proclamation suspending certain provisions of the Texas Election Code to allow all local political subdivisions that are utilizing the May 2, 2020 uniform election date to postpone their elections no later than November 3, 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak (postponed by Resolution 2020-05 on March 27, 2020).  As identified in Election Advisory No. 2020-24 from the Secretary of State, all candidate filings provided for the May election will remain valid for the election held on November 3rd and the filing period will not be re-opened for the November election date.

On July 27, 2020 Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation suspending Section 85.001(a) of the Texas Election Code to expand the early voting period moving the first day of Early Voting from October 19, 2020 to October 13, 2020.

As our city sits in three different counties, knowing where to vote can be confusing. For state, county, school and federal elections there are different polling sites, days and hours of operation depending on which county you reside in. Unlike the May election where residents from all three counties are accustomed to voting at City Hall, in the November election, pursuant to Texas Election Code 42.002 and 43.007 E, the city will contract with Bexar, Kendall and Comal County.  Therefore residents from each respective county will vote only at polling places in their own county during early voting and on Election Day

The City of Fair Oaks Ranch City Hall will be an Early Voting and Election Day poll site for Bexar County only.

The polling places on Election Day shall be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.  The current locations noted below are subject to change as each respective Election Administrator is working toward confirmation of all polling locations due to COVID 19.  Updates will be posted as received, however it is recommended that you refer to your county's website for up to date information (links provided below for your convenience).
