Court Appearance

Regulations
The law requires you to appear in court on your case. If you were issued a citation, your appearance date is located on the citation. Court begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends when all cases are heard.  You or your attorney must appear in person on your scheduled date in order to see the Judge. Juveniles under 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Minors under 21 years of age charged with any type of alcohol offense are required to appear in court as follows:
  • Anyone under 18 years of age, must appear in person before the court and must be accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian.
  • Anyone under 21 years of age, but over 18 years of age must appear in person before the court. A parent or legal guardian is not required to appear in court with you.

Initial Appearance
Your first scheduled court appearance is an arraignment setting at which time you will enter your plea. If you plead not guilty the court will reset your case to the next available court docket.

The City of Fair Oaks Ranch Municipal Court does not accept faxes for an initial appearance or requests for resets. This must be done in person or by mail.

Notice: If you do not appear in court or make payment on or before the court date on your citation, an additional charge of failure to appear may be filed against you and a warrant for your arrest will be issued.
