City Conducting Deer Census


Under the guidance of an Urban Biologist with Texas Park and Wildlife, the City will conduct a census of deer Sunday, September 22, 29, and October 6. The census takers will be traveling pre-defined routes in city vehicles from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Each team will have a driver from the Wildlife Education Committee with two observers spotting and recording the number of deer.  The observers will be identifying bucks, does, and fawns as well as differentiating between native white tail and ax...

On August 19, 2019 City Manager, Tobin Maples, filed the City’s proposed FY 2019-20 budget with the City Secretary.

The Public Hearing dates on the proposed budget will be Thursday, September 5 at 9:30 AM and Thursday, September 12 at 6:30 PM. The
budget is expected to be adopted on Thursday, September 19 at 6:30 PM.

City Council has proposed a tax rate of $0.3735 per $100 valuation to support the Fiscal Year 2019-20 proposed budget. Two public hearings will be held on the proposed tax rate before adopting a property tax rate on September 19, 2019.
