Bulk/Brush Pick Up
OVERVIEW
The City of Fair Oaks Ranch contracts with Republic Services (210-304-2700 or 800-275-4234) to provide bi-annual bulk and brush waste collection to residential solid waste customers. In advance of each event, customers will receive a flyer indicating the date by which items can be first put out and the last date items can be set out for pick up.
The collection of bulk and/or brush waste occurs in SECTORS as identified below (click on applicable sector number to view map of area):
Acceptable brush waste includes landscape debris, brush trimmings, and minor tree trimmings.
Bulk waste includes items that are typically too large to be disposed of in the residential regular curbside trash container. Acceptable bulk waste includes household furniture, mattresses, outdoor furniture, lawn and bar b q equipment with gas/propane/butane removed, and appliances with Freon removed and certified.
In between the collection event, two alternative methods to dispose of bulk items include contacting Republic Services for an out-of-cycle service or donating to organizations such as Furniture for a Cause, Habitat for Humanity, The Arc of Texas, Goodwill Industries, Salvation Army, etc.

Sector 1 All residential homes south of Dietz Elkhorn (does not include homes on Dietz Elkhorn)
Sector 2 All residential homes between Cibolo Creek and Dietz Elkhorn (includes homes on Dietz Elkhorn)
Sector 3 All residential homes north of Cibolo Creek (includes Deer Meadow Estates)
BRUSH PILE GUIDELINES
- Brush must be separated from bulk pile and not to exceed 15'L x 6'W x 6'H.
- Pile is to be set out no later than 11:59 p.m. before the first date of your scheduled collection week.
- Pile is to be placed within 8 ft of the the curb and away from obstruction, such as, fences, trees, parked cars, mailboxes, beneath overhead wires or low-hanging tree limbs, or on top of water meters.
- Service is for personally-trimmed trees and shrubs, contractor trimmings will not be picked up. When trimming, be mindful of the City's oak wilt prevention guidelines.
BULK PILE GUIDELINES
- Bulk must be separated from brush pile.
- Pile is to be set out no later than 11:59 p.m before the first day of your scheduled collection week.
- Pile is to be placed within 8 ft of the the curb and away from obstruction, such as, fences, trees, parked cars, mailboxes, beneath overhead wires or low-hanging tree limbs, or on top of water meters.
- Contractor/Construction material such as concrete, glass, etc. will not be picked up.
- Due to regulatory mandates, no household hazardous waste materials such as antifreeze, pesticides, light bulbs, gasoline, paints, pool chemicals, etc. will be picked up. An annual-city HHZ waste collection event is held for these materials. In addition, tires, televisions, computer equipment, glass, etc. are not allowed.
