Inspections

Pursuant to City ordinance, inspections are required for:

Commercial Development Detached Buildings over 100 Sq. Ft. Irrigation Systems / Backflow Devices Residential New Homes Residential Remodels / Additions

Signs Swimming Pools Solar Water Heater Replacement Water Softeners

The contractor who is issued the permit is responsible for scheduling the inspections or ensuring that the inspections are accomplished. The contractor or their representative must be present for each inspection.

Inspections must be requested at least 48 hours in advance. Inspections are done to ensure that the project is in compliance with City ordinance and state regulations. The inspection costs are included in the permit fee. 
 

At the completion of each inspection, the inspector will email an approval / disapproval form to the responsible party. The status of your inspection will be indicated on the form. If you have a box checked that requires a correction, that item must be corrected and inspected again for compliance before the project can proceed.

Each printed permit will indicate what inspections are required for that specific project.
