Board of Appeals
Role/Mission
The role of the board is to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the Building Official relative to the application and interpretation of the International Building Code, International Residential Code for One and Two Family Dwellings, International Energy Conservation Code, International Plumbing Code and National Electric Code.
Membership/Qualifications
Consists of three persons appointed by City Council and one alternate member.
Those who are qualified by experience and training to pass on matters pertaining to building construction and are not employees of the jurisdiction.
Terms
Each member of the Board shall be appointed and serve three (3) years staggered terms.
Meetings
The Board shall meet upon notice from the chairperson, within 10 days from the filing of an appeal or at stated periodic meetings.
